The Proprietary Saw Blade Adaptation

Q. CAN A FRETSAW BLADE BE USED TO CUT WOOD?

A fretsaw blade is well-suited for thin materials and can make fine chip-free cuts across or with the grain. The shallow depth of fret slots lend themselves to its application.

The key to adapting the narrow saw blade for fret slotting is the saw body design.

Our custom-engineered saw body eliminates flex and keeps the blade straight and uniform.

In conjunction with an exhaustively researched blade, the result is a clean, perpendicular slot, perfect for subsequent fret installation. (Over 800 sold saws sold since its inception).

"I'm a student of master luthier (name supplied). I recently completed a guitar repair course and I need the fret slotting saw. I noticed, however, that it's recently not been possible to purchase it from the website due to restrictions on bladed items. Other students managed in the past to buy It.

I think your fret slotting saw (2mm fixed height) is one of the best and I would absolutely need It. Is there any way to receive it in Italy? Thank you for your time and best regards"

A. "Thank you for your message. It is possible to send a saw using (---). They are one of the few couriers that I've been able to find, that will ship this item. I've recently updated the product details for this".

The rigid spine of the saw shrouds the blade back, preventing it from deflecting. The saw cut is kept straight and free from wandering, by trapping the sides of the blade along its length.

FIXED DEPTH VARIATIONS

The most popular saw depth is 2.5mm which suits the majority of fretboard radius/fretwire combinations. The saw cut leaves sufficient depth for the tang at the edges of the board after radiusing the fretboard.

Additional variations of the saw include 1.5mm & 2.0mm for flatter boards and a general purpose 3.5mm saw.
