Our notched edge tools focus on the active flex length of the neck that enables a single tool to accommodate multiple guitar scales.

MULTIPLE SCALES

The highest frets are excluded, since these are past the neck heel, where the fretboard is unlikely to be affected by truss rod adjustments.

This approach minimises the number of notches required, and the innovative notch spacing design enables the tool to be used for any guitar scale, that falls within each tools specified range.

The tools cover a total range from 20" to 38".

PLACEMENT ON THE NECK

The placement of the tool on the guitar neck will depend on the scale of the instrument.

Small double dot holes for position reference are provided. (The larger holes are for attaching the steady - see below).

GUITARS WITH ZERO FRET

For the shortest scale on each tool, the 1st notch skips over the nut and may not be suitable for guitars that feature a zero fret, due to the extended nut position on the instrument.

STEADY FOOT

All tools feature a detachable steady designed to prevent tipping, ensuring the notched edge stays stable on the neck during setup and adjustments.

The steady will find its own resting height and should be loosely secured when placing the notched edge on the neck, then tightened with the single screw after the notched edge has contacted the fretboard.

The steady has sufficient height travel to enable it to be utilised whether or not strings are fitted.
